Since the start of the Covid-19 state of emergency, the ophthalmology services of Inhambane province, which is where the Eyes of the world teams operate, have never come to a complete stop.<\/p>\n
Logically, eye revision campaigns in schools, surgery commissions and, in general, all activities involving more than 10 people were suspended. But health personnel, adopting all security measures and working shifts, have been attending to the population that needed assistance and treatment for any ocular pathology.<\/strong><\/p>\n During these months, Eyes of the world has distributed masks and protection material for technical personnel <\/strong>who attend emergencies in the ophthalmology departments of the Inhambane Provincial Hospital and the Zavala Hospital. Transfers were possible thanks to the acquisition of an off-road vehicle financed by the ESCRS<\/strong> (European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons).<\/p>\n The Foundation has also collaborated with the Provincial Directorate of Health, accompanying them on their supervisory visits to the districts to help verify the application of the protection measures.<\/p>\n In these visits, such as the one made in June to Govuro, Mabote and Funhalouro, the Eyes of the world teams have taken advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the situation of some of the most remote districts of the province <\/strong>that do not have ophthalmological care services, taking note of their eye health needs and providing awareness materials on the most common eye pathologies.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":18224,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-18248","noticies","type-noticies","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
