And the role of teachers is key, which is why Eyes of the world organizes training sessions to offer them training, such as the one held in March at the <strong>La Paz Educational Unit in the Cercado municipality<\/strong>, in the department of Tarija.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">In this school,&nbsp;<strong>eight female teachers and four male teachers received training in visual acuity to check the vision of 500 students&nbsp;<\/strong>(50% women). Subsequently, a mobile brigade made up of an ophthalmologist and an optometrist traveled to the educational centre to attend to the students who needed corrective lenses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">On April 27, prescription <strong>glasses<\/strong><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>&nbsp;were delivered to 74 students<\/strong> (39 girls and 35 boys). They and their families received an informative talk from the Eyes of the world team on lens care and advice on eye health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">During this activity, the director, the families, and the teachers presented an <strong>acknowledgment to Eyes of the world<\/strong> that was collected by the Tarija coordinator, Zulma Guerrero, <strong>thanking the Foundation for the time and effort<\/strong> dedicated so that students with visual deficiencies benefited with the endowment glasses and can improve their learning process.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">This Eyes of Bolivia project has the collaboration of Banco Nacional de Bolivia, Kutxa, CBM, Fundaci\u00f3n Repsol, UPF Solidaria, and L&#8217;Hospitalet City Council.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":21571,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-21736","noticies","type-noticies","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Training of teachers to check the vision of 500 students from Tarija - Eyes of the world<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Schools are one of the focal points for the early detection of vision problems among children.
