{"id":34462,"date":"2025-12-18T15:36:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-18T15:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ullsdelmon.org\/?post_type=noticies&#038;p=34462"},"modified":"2026-04-08T15:36:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T15:36:44","slug":"new-school-health-record-in-oruro-for-monitoring-eye-problems","status":"publish","type":"noticies","link":"https:\/\/www.ullsdelmon.org\/en\/news\/new-school-health-record-in-oruro-for-monitoring-eye-problems\/","title":{"rendered":"New school health record in Oruro for monitoring eye problems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The eye health programme that the Eyes of the world Foundation has been developing for years in Oruro, Bolivia, has been consolidated with a significant new advance: the implementation of the Comprehensive School Health Record.<\/p>\n<p>Eyes of the world and the Oruro Departmental Health Service (SEDES) have created this new form, designed to <strong>monitor the health of schoolchildren up to the age of 12<\/strong> and promote the timely identification of visual impairments, which is essential for their academic and personal development.<\/p>\n<p>The inclusion of eye health in this form provides a number of advantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Early detection of vision problems.<\/li>\n<li>Easy access to eye health services, reducing inequalities in medical care.<\/li>\n<li>Free care for students identified with vision problems, who are referred to the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Oruro to receive free ophthalmological and refractive care through the Single Health System (SUS).<\/li>\n<li>Guaranteed follow-up of vision needs, thanks to systematic registration, promoting timely interventions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">In addition to eye health, this form includes data such as hearing health, nutritional status and genetic risk factors. Since September,<strong> it has been introduced in 123 educational units in the urban area of the department<\/strong>. Work is also underway to develop an eye health plan that will enable the <strong>programme to be extended throughout the department<\/strong>, ensuring the sustainability of eye health in the region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This initiative improves children&#8217;s visual health while promoting a more inclusive and equitable educational environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":29308,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-34462","noticies","type-noticies","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
