The educational project promoted by Eyes of the world to raise awareness among young people about inequalities in eye health has come to an end with a closing event held at CaixaForum Barcelona<\/strong>, where the short films produced<\/strong> by the participating students throughout this academic year were presented<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cA cinematic look at inequalities in eye health\u201d proposed to students from Institut Quatre Cantons, FEP Santa Teresa de Lisieux and Institut Francisco de Goya<\/strong> the challenge of producing short films with the professional support of Taller de Cinema<\/strong>, Eyes of the world and their respective teaching staff.<\/p>\n

The initiative, funded by Barcelona City Council<\/strong>, has made it possible to work with secondary school and sixth-form students on the reality of people living with visual impairment and the inequalities<\/strong> present in access to eye health around the world. Through audiovisual language, the young people have reflected on these issues and created their own pieces, which serve as awareness-raising tools in future Eyes of the world campaigns; turning students into agents of change, capable of connecting and conveying local and global realities.<\/p>\n

The results were <\/span>“V(ull) DIR-TE UNA COSA”<\/span><\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>(Institut Quatre Cantons),\u00a0<\/span>“Zona\u00a0cega”<\/span><\/b><\/a> <\/b>(FEP Santa Teresa de Lisieux) and\u00a0<\/span>“M\u00e9s\u00a0enll\u00e0\u00a0dels\u00a0ulls”<\/span><\/b><\/a> <\/b>(Institut Francisco de Goya).<\/p>\n

\"Filming<\/p>\n

The final event, held at CaixaForum Barcelona, brought together students, teachers and representatives of Taller de Cinema<\/strong> for a day dedicated to sharing the work carried out over recent months. The screening of the short films made it possible to highlight the creativity, commitment and capacity for reflection of the participants<\/strong>, as well as to create a space for debate<\/strong> around the right to visual health and inclusion.<\/p>\n

The project is based on the Service-Learning<\/strong> methodology, which combines learning with social commitment<\/strong> and promotes the role of students as agents of awareness-raising and social transformation.<\/p>\n
