Barcelona, ​​1956. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona in 1980. He later specialized in ophthalmology at the School of Specialization of the University of Bari (Italy).

He began his professional career as an internist at the Evangelical Hospital of Barcelona. In 1984 he traveled to Mozambique in the framework of a health cooperation programme of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he developed assistance and teaching tasks.

In 1990 he obtained the position of assistant doctor of ophthalmology at the Hospital of the Red Cross of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and since 1997 he is head of the Ophthalmology Unit of the Consortium of the Hospital of the Red Cross of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

Over the years he has been a teacher in courses on tropical medicine, tropical ophthalmology and surgical nursing.

He has been cooperating with the Eyes of the world Foundation since 2002. Currently, he is the medical supervisor of the Eyes of Mozambique programme.
