Accessibility statement

In our redesign of the Eyes of the world website, we have taken universal accessibility into account from the outset. In line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), our aim is to ensure the site is accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities.

Standards applied

The Foundation’s website complies with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Requirements met:

  • Full keyboard navigation.
  • A link to skip directly to the main content for keyboard users.
  • Accessible interactive elements (drop-down menus, buttons, links, etc.).
  • Visible focus indicator and logical tab order, following the page structure.
  • Informative content images with descriptive alternative text.
  • Decorative images correctly marked up so that screen readers ignore them.
  • Adequate colour contrast between text and background (minimum WCAG 2.1 AA level for normal text) and in interactive elements.
  • No information is conveyed solely through colour.
  • Use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). A hierarchical and consistent structure of headings (H1, H2, H3) that reflect the structure of the content.
  • Website available in Catalan, Spanish and English with an accessible language selector.
  • Content is written in plain and inclusive language.
  • The Lato typeface is used, which is recognised as being highly accessible both for readers and for screen-reader software. Similarly, an optimal line spacing is applied to make the text easier to read.
  • Design adapted for mobiles and tablets without compromising accessibility.
  • Compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies.

Areas of partial compliance:

  • Embedded third-party content (social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn or X) may not fully comply with WCAG.
  • Some PDF documents, particularly those created by third parties or older documents, may have accessibility limitations.
  • Videos that contain subtitles, but no audio description or alternative media.

Compliance status

The Eyes of the world website partially complies with accessibility guidelines. 

Non-accessible content

There are certain PDF documents that do not comply with accessibility standards in terms of structure, as well as the annual accounts prepared by an external auditor. Likewise, some videos have accessibility issues.

Date of review

The last accessibility check was carried out on 25 May 2026.

All new content complies and will continue to comply with the relevant standards and will be self-assessed prior to publication.

Assessment method

The method was based on manual self-assessments and the use of computer-based tools.
