With the support of Novartis, the Eyes of the World Foundation is launching the campaign “Holding gazes”, which aims to raise public awareness of the importance of regular eye check-ups to prevent vision loss and to protect, preserve and prioritise visual health, and raise awareness of the precariousness of eye health in some of the most impoverished areas of the world.

This is a campaign on Eyes of the World’s social networks (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) in which users are asked to keep their eyes on the eyes that appear in a video. The more people who hold their gaze, the more people will be able to recover their sight or not lose it thanks to a check-up, treatment or eye screening.

The Foundation aims to achieve 20,000 views of the video, which will be converted, thanks to Novartis’ financial contribution, into eye check-ups for up to 4,000 people without financial resources. These check-ups will be carried out within the framework of the ophthalmological cooperation projects that the Foundation has underway in the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf (Algeria), Mozambique, Bolivia and Mali.

The conversion of the campaign, which will last from 15 November to 5 December, consists of 1 check-up for every 5 people who watch the video, in other words, who hold their gaze, extend their interest and persist in supporting the fight against avoidable blindness.
